Noah's Ark (A Quick Fact)

This is a very quick post. More like an "F.Y.I."

How many of each animal (species) did Noah take on the ark?
(No, this is not a trick question).

2 right?

Wrong!

So called "clean" animals were taken in groups of 7 and the "unclean" animals were taken in pairs of 2. There you go.

genesis 7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that [are] not clean by two, the male and his female.

We always see illustrations showing us all the animals walking onto the ark in pairs of two. Horses, Zebras, Lions, Bears... the whole zoo and more... walking in pairs. You never see seven turkeys in row walking onto the ark or seven monkeys holding hands walking in.

Maybe it's because they never knew what were considered "clean" or "unclean." But why did they choose to show all animals as unclean? Maybe I'm thinking too hard into it.

Wuddaya think?
